Parashat Pekudei marks the end of the second book of the Torah. This parasha is all about the creating of the Mishkan, and it outlines all of the very specific instructions that hashem had commanded for the Mishkan. Pekudei includes Moshe erecting the Mishkan and anointing it as well. This process marks the end of the building of the Mishkan. Once the Mishkan is built the pasuk says that Hashem’s presence immediately filled it. וַיְכַ֥ס הֶעָנָ֖ן אֶת־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וּכְב֣וֹד יְהֹוָ֔ה מָלֵ֖א אֶת־הַמִּשְׁכָּֽן. the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the Presence of יהוה filled the Tabernacle. Chizkuni says that this occurred because Hashem wanted to show his love for the Jewish people, so he immediately entered the Mishkan to show that he was immediately there for them. The problem with this is that immediately in the next passuk moshe is unable to enter because Hashem is occupying the Mishkan.
Moses could not enter the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud had settled upon it and the Presence of יהוה filled the Tabernacle.
I thought this was interesting because immediately after Moshe builds the Mishkan, Hashem keeps him out of it, instead showing his love to the Jewish people. I think we can learn from this that while some people appear to be more loved or chosen by Hashem, he loves us all equally and is present for all of us not just Moshe or any other specific person. This also aligns with the phrase we say when we finish this parasha: chazak chazak vnitchazek. Be strong be strong and we will be stronger. The nun in nitchazek makes it about us, not just one person and I think this is important to emphasize. As we enter this shabbat I hope that everyone can remember that Hashem loves them, and that we should all become stronger.
